Platform Technologies at Hande Sciences

  We leverage a range of technical platforms to support efficient route scouting, optimize reagent/catalyst selection, identify ideal reaction conditions and enhance process robustness. 

These capabilities are aimed at delivering chemically efficient processes while maximizing overall cost and operational efficiency. 

Flow Chemistry

Hande Sciences has flow chemistry experience in: 

  • Safety:   Azidations, Nitrations, Oxidations, High Temperature Rearrangements, Halogenations via Diazonium Salts and Curtius Rearrangements 
  • Scalability: Photocatalytic Brominations, Asymmetric Hydrogenation (or other reactive gases) 
  • Reaction Control:  Oxidation, Reductions, Lithiations, Grignard, Formulations and Rearrangements

  • Modular Equipment:Coil Reactors, Column Reactors, CSTR, Corning G1 Continuous Flow Reactor Platform, Photochemical Reactor, Fixed-bed Reactor; TCU; Centrifuge Extractor
  • Temperature Range:-80 to 300 oC
  • Pressure Range: 0 to 4 MPa (40 bar)
  • Flow Rate:​ Minimum flow rate during development: 20 μL/min.​Maximum flow rate during manufacturing: 3 L/min.

Hande Sciences has reagent kits (chiral and achiral carboxylic acids and amines, and solvents) and facilities for fast crystallization screening, including classical resolution:

  • High through-put screening.
  • Analytical: HPLC (purity and mass balance (by assay)), XRPD, Polarized Light Microscopy, DSC.
  • Rapid technology transfer to PR&D and scale-up.
